Munnerstadt artist thomas pfarr is certain: "i believe that the time is ripe, that the need is there," he says, he says. In the spring he wants to open his art gallery in the munnerstadter heimatspielhaus. A small glimpse of it is on display from today until sunday at the well-known art exhibition fine arts in the kulturspeicher in wurzburg.
People know each other. The artists kurt grimm and angelika summa gave thomas pfarr the idea of going to fine arts and at the same time recommended him there, he recounts. The art and antique fair has only about 30 booths, at booth 23 you can find thomas pfarr. His main focus will be on heinz altschaffel (youngest cultural award winner of the district of lower franconia, painting), norbert kleinlein (painting), heike kleinlein (ceramics) and willi grimm (bronze sculptures). On 16 square meters exhibition space is naturally limited. Small but nice thomas pfarr wants to present his work at the fine arts fair.
The artist explains why he is there: "because i wanted to take the opportunity to present the pfarr gallery in the heimatspielhaus at such an outstanding event"." It does not exist yet, but in agreement with the chairman of the association "future for the home playhouse", martin kuchler, he can reveal so much: "we want to consider the spring of 2013 as a realistic opening date."
When thomas pfarr talks about the heimatspielhaus, he gets into the black. Several small rooms on the first floor to the right of the entrance will be available to him. The oldest part of the historic building from the early 16th century will also be used. Century.
Because the association renounces the installation of a tourist shop in the heimatspielhaus, thomas pfarr also got the rough room left of the entrance. "So it is possible for me to present the whole palette of contemporary art", he says. Medium sculptures floor installations and rough paintings he can show like this. "This would not have been possible in the small rooms, as they are", he says.
"I am convinced that it works and I would like to do it for a long time", concrete thomas pfarr. "I believe that it will be an enrichment for munnerstadt and the region." Thomas pfarr has organized several exhibitions of contemporary art in different forms with a lot of passion during the last years. Now he feels that the time is ripe for a gallery, which he would like to open, if possible, even six days a week. There will only be art by professionals there.
